Hazel Whitmore is a young girl living in New York City. She has a good life until the day she is notified of her father's death. She and her mother deal with the loss in different ways.
Hazel sees the changes in her mother and pitches in to help. But her own life is complicated also, by changes. The loss of her father, being bulled, loss of friends and a move from the apartment she loves.
Broken Promises is a short story by Karen Goatkeeper. This is a good read for any young person or adult.
