Yarns From Ozark Storytellers
Karen GoatKeeper has always enjoyed exploring nature. Growing up in southern California this meant the seashore, mountains, and deserts. Upper Peninsula of Michigan was a new world of northern lights and forests of Christmas trees.
Twenty-five years ago Karen GoatKeeper moved to the Missouri Ozarks never expecting to stay so long or to find the area so fascinating. The hills still have surprises hidden in them.
Life in the Ozarks consists of a small herd of Nubian dairy goats – and, yes, that means milking twice a day, chickens and garden. Writing takes up a lot of time and most of it uses the Ozark hills as part or all of the setting. Walking the hills are done as often as possible.

Day by day 25 years marched by here at "My Ozark Home." Photographs are memories of times and happenings on my hills and in my pastures. Each picture inspired a haiku. Each group of pictures brings an essay of thoughts and memories. Come and join me on a celebratory look back at 25 years at "My Ozark Home."
My Ozark Home is one of my favorites of Karen's writings. She really captures the heart of the Ozark hills. Her photography and the poetry will warm your heart.
